The spectacular Paringa Silo art was completed in February 2021 and features four distinct images (two on the front facing the Sturt Highway and two on the rear of the structure) linked together with soaring pelicans.
Local characters were selected to feature as the base silhouettes with the story of our district told through the images within the profiles, including Possum, and his mythological connection with the Murray, a Houseboat, the historic Paddle Steamer Industry, a Dinghy, the magnificent river cliffs plus the iconic Paringa Bridge and a Murray Cod.

Floodlights light up the artwork at night.
Please note that some works are still being carried out to improve the experience (information boards and a walking trail around the silos for a complete 360 degree viewing experience).

The Paringa Bridge forms part of the Sturt Highway, carrying traffic across the Murray River between Renmark and Paringa.
The Paringa Bridge is one of only four suspension bridges still spanning the Murray River, opening in January 1927. The bridge is of particular structural significance due to its advanced engineering which allows a section of the bridge to be raised to allow larger river traffic to pass through.
The bridge structure was designed and constructed in Adelaide and was to cater for both road and rail traffic. With rail no longer operating in the region, the track section of the bridge has been converted to a pedestrian walkway.
The lift-span section of the bridge operates daily at 9.30am and 2.30pm daily. Best position to view the bridge in operation is the lawns of Bert Dix park.
